Life is like a carnival
It just goes round and round
And we’re just like the children
Making silly sounds
Talking without speaking
Playing, nothing more
Going down and up and round
And wondering what for
CHORUS:
The carnival has come to town, everyone is there
Clowns play with our children we just watch and stare
Toying with our very lives, like jugglers tossing balls
Everyone’s on tightropes, praying they don’t fall
Life is like a round and-round
At the local Fair
We walk round in circles
And wonder why we’re there
The smell and sound the flashing lights
all lost within our minds
like the fire breathing man
we’re just burning time
BRIDGE:
Like clowns with painted faces peeking from behind
Afraid to let each other in for fear of what they’d find
Costumes colored to distract and hide who lives within
We talk behind each others backs and hide it with a grin
CHORUS:
The carnival has come to town, everyone is there
Clowns play with our children we just watch and stare
Toying with our very lives, like jugglers tossing balls
Everyone’s on tightropes, praying they don’t fall
