(Spiritual)
I killed myself when I was young at least that’s what I thought
I just gave up and said one day “the fight cannot be fought”
I laid down, closed my eyes and never said goodbye
I give up, I’ll see you … maybe, on the other side
My pain was more than I could bear I kept it all inside
For I had never understood from life you cannot hide
I took too many pills that day to end my life for good
But in between me and my death, that is where God stood
Don’t give up, a change of luck is right around the bend
Even though, right now I know, it seems your heart won’t mend
Though it feels you can’t go on another hour or two
Remember this, God has a dream … a greater dream for you.
I walked alone, too much it seemed, that no one understood
Somehow, I was different but that didn’t feel so good
So many sad emotions everyday they came around
My feet where on the pavement but my soul was underground
For me it never seemed quite real but just another deed
It’s sad we never look within to find the things we need
When I awoke, yes … still alive, I finally said a prayer
Now I look back I realize, someone always cared
Don’t give up, a change of luck is right around the bend
Even though, right now I know it seems your heart won’t mend
When it seems you can’t go through another hour or two
Remember that God has a dream … a greater dream for you.
And all of us are lonely at some time within our lives
All of us have hearts that feel like they’ve been stabbed with knives
All of us come face to face and ponder our demise
And of us, should we give up, will learn God’s by our side.
Don’t give up, a change of luck is right around the bend
Even though, right now I know it seems your heart won’t mend
When it seems you can’t go through another hour or two
Remember that God has a dream … a greater dream for you.
